WHEREAS, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) includes funds to be awarded as economic relief to eligible U.S. airports, and,
WHEREAS, the Secretary of Transportation announced on February 12, 2021 that the funding allocation for the Foley Municipal Airport is $13,000 and is intended to be used for airport related expenses incurred after January 20, 2020 related to operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, janitorial services, and combating the spread of pathogens at the airport expenses and is available until depleted or up to four years, and,
WHEREAS, the State of Alabama, acting through the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is administering the CRRSAA grant, and,
WHEREAS, the grant application for the funding is due by June 30, 2021.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: That the City of Foley is hereby authorized to make application and to enter into an agreement with ALDOT and the FAA for airport funding assistance for eligible operational expenses incurred January 20, 2020 or later.
SECTION 2: That either the Mayor or the Airport Manager of the City of Foley are hereby each authorized, directed and empowered to apply for and enter into an airport funding agreement with the FAA and the State of Alabama, acting by and through the Alabama Department of Transportation, including all understandings and assurances contained therein, and to each act in connection with the application and agreement and to provide such additional information as may be requested.
SECTION 3: Amends account revenue account 100-1070-4300 CARES/CRRSAA Grant-Airport in the amount of $13,000.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
