A Resolution Allocating the Funds for the Construction of the Andrew James Wetland Reserve Parking Area and Roadway
Summary
The Nature Parks Department is requesting to allocate funds to the Capital Project, Andrew James Wetland Reserve, in the amount of $70,000. This will be for the materials to construct the internal gravel roadway and gravel parking area, as well, as additional fencing in these areas. The work will be completed by city crews. Once these additions are complete, a grand opening for the passive nature park can occur in fall 2027.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley 2026 Capital Projects Plan included the Andrew James Wetland Reserve Improvements for a parking area and roadway, and
WHEREAS, the proposed project is estimated at $70,000 in materials to construct the parking area and roadway, and
WHEREAS, the Nature Parks Department would like to move forward with improving this property in order to allow public access in the near future.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Andrew James Wetland Reserve Improvements and allocates $70,000 to Account No. 400-5090-5118.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
