(First Reading) An Ordinance Establishing Fees and Policies for the Gymnasium at the Foley Activity Center.

 

 

Summary

The purpose of this ordinance is to establish user fees and operational policies for the gymnasium at the Foley Activity Center.

 

 

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City deems it necessary to set standard fees and policies for the gymnasium at the Foley Activity Center.

 

BE IT ORDAINED that the Foley City Council as follows:

 

Section 1:                     

HOURS OF OPERATION

Monday - Friday: 8 am - 8 pm

Saturday: 8 am - 2 pm

Sunday: Closed

Hours may vary for scheduled programs.  The facility will be closed for major holidays and periodically for maintenance.

DEFINITIONS

Youth: Ages 6-17

Adult: Ages 18-49

Senior: Ages 50+

FEES

Daily Pass:

Youth: $3

Adults: $5

Seniors: $3

All fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.

GYMNASIUM POLICIES

A.                     Entry & General Access

Ø                     Everyone must sign in at the front desk before entering the gym.

Ø                     No roaming the building.  Only the gym, restrooms, and front lobby are open to the public.

Ø                     Children 12 and under must be accompanied by someone 16 years old or older.

Ø                     City of Foley programs have first priority on all courts.  Free court time is on a first-come, first-served basis.  One-hour time limit, while others are waiting.

B.                     Prohibited Items & Activities

Ø                     No food or drink of any kind, with the exception of water.  No glass bottles.

Ø                     No alcohol or tobacco.  This includes electronic smoking devices such as vapes and e-cigarettes.

Ø                     No pets allowed, including emotional support animals (service animals are welcome).

Ø                     No bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, skates, segways or hover boards.

Ø                     No dunking allowed.

Ø                     No soliciting.

Ø                     Profanity, destructive, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.

Ø                     No amplified music may be played.

Ø                     No outside chairs allowed.

C.                     Attire & Equipment

Ø                     Appropriate attire and non-marking shoes are required on the playing surface.

Ø                     Personal balls, paddles, and other athletic equipment are permitted.

Ø                     All equipment and balls must be put away before leaving.

Ø                     Please help keep our facility clean by putting trash in the garbage cans.

D.                     Liability & Enforcement

Ø                     Users of this facility do so at their own risk and assume all liability.

Ø                     Failure to comply with these rules may result in removal from the facility as well as further disciplinary action.

 

Section 2:                     "The terms and provisions of this ordinance are severable.  If any part or portion of this ordinance is declared invalid, void, or unconstitutional, that portion shall be deemed severed, and the remaining portions of the ordinance shall remain in full force and effect."

 

Section 3:                     All ordinances or parts of ordinances, in any manner conflicting herewith are hereby repealed.

 

Section 4:                     This ordinance shall become effective upon its publication as required by law.
