A Resolution Authorizing the Mayor to Sign a Letter of Intent for the Purchase of Three (3) 2023 Peterbilt 520 Chassis and Three (3) 2023 New Way Front Load 40 yd Bodies

The Sanitation Department would like to request that the Mayor sign a Letter of Intent for the Purchase of Three (3) 2023 Peterbilt 520 chassis from Performance Peterbilt of Hattiesburg, LLC for a total of $419,536.00 and Three (3) 2023 New Way Front Load 40 Yard Eject Bodies from SANSOM Equipment Company for a total of $384,399.00 for new ASL garbage trucks. The Full total of the Three (3) ASL Garbage Trucks is $803,935.00. Because of the unusually long lead time in getting a chassis & bodies for garbage trucks, we need to send a letter of intent to them to hold our place in the long list of companies ordering them for next year.

WHEREAS, the Sanitation Department is requesting that the Mayor sign a Letter of Intent for the Purchase of Three (3) 2023 Peterbilt 520 chassis from Performance Peterbilt of Hattiesburg, LLC for a total of $419,536.00 and Three (3) 2023 New Way Front Load 40 Yard Eject Bodies from SANSOM Equipment Company for a total of $384,399.00 for new ASL garbage trucks, and
WHEREAS, the Full total of the Three (3) ASL Garbage Trucks is $803,935.00, and
WHEREAS, there is an unusually long lead time in getting a chassis & bodies for garbage trucks, we need to send a letter of intent to them to hold our place in the long list of companies ordering them for next year.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Authorizes the Mayor sign a Letter of Intent for the Purchase of Three (3) 2023 Peterbilt 520 chassis from Performance Peterbilt of Hattiesburg, LLC for a total of $419,536.00 and Three (3) 2023 New Way Front Load 40 Yard Eject Bodies from SANSOM Equipment Company for a total of $384,399.00 for new ASL Garbage Trucks in the total amount of $803,935.00.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
