WHEREAS, Resolution No. 25-1459 authorized the City of Foley Public Library to apply for the FY26 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Strengthening Youth and Family Grant to support the development of a STEAM Lab in the new library facility; and
WHEREAS, the Alabama Public Library Service has awarded the City of Foley Public Library an LSTA grant in the amount of $20,000, with no local match required; and
WHEREAS, the City of Foley Public Library desires to accept the grant and amend the appropriate budget accounts to support the STEAM Lab project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts FY26 LSTA grant award in the amount of $20,000.
SECTION 2: The FY26 budget is hereby amended to increase the LSTA Grant Revenue account #100-5020-4303 by $20,000 and the LSTA Grant Expense Account # 100-5020-6190 by $20,000.
SECTION 3: Authorizes the library to use the grant award for equipping the new Library STEAM Lab with the essential tools, technology and supplies necessary to launch innovative, hands-on learning experiences.
SECTION 4: Authorizes Kate Norris to serve as the grant manager who will be responsible for submitting all required reports to the granting agency and to the City of Foley's Grant Administrator.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
