     WHEREAS, ALDOT is soliciting application for the new Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TAP) for FY2023, and

 

     WHEREAS, the City's application would request funding for the extension of bicycle and pedestrian improvements along Airport Road, Little Rock Road, Dailey Lane, County Road 65, and Cater Lee Way, and

 

     WHEREAS, the estimated project construction cost of $942,925.00 with $754,340 of federal funds and $188,585 in matching funds plus an additional $88,300 in matching funds for design that is not grant eligible, and

 

     WHEREAS, the deadline to apply is June 30, 2022, and

 

     WHEREAS, if awarded, this will be a FY2023 budget expense.

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1:     Approves the City of Foley Engineering Department to submit an application to ALDOT's Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TAP) for FY2023.

 

     SECTION 2:     Approves City matching funds of $188,585 if the grant is awarded.

 

     SECTION 3:     Approves the Mayor and other City staff to sign the application and other documents that may be required to submit the application.

 

     SECTION 4:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
