The Foley Police Department requested Council’s permission to apply to the FY23 ADECA Byrne JAG - Local Law Enforcement Assistance Grant on Resolution 22-1401. ADECA has awarded the City of Foley $20,171.20 for the purchase of Force on Force Simunition Training Equipment. The Police Department requests permission to accept the grant, amend the budget in the amount of $20,171.20 in the revenue and $21,000 expense accounts, and go to bid for these items. This will allow for the purchase of gloves to go with the simunition equipment and allow for overages incase the bid amount comes back higher than the amount quoted with the grant application.

WHEREAS, the Foley Police Department requested Council’s permission to apply to the FY23 ADECA Local Law Enforcement Assistance Grant on Resolution 22-1401, and
WHEREAS, ADECA has awarded the City of Foley $20,171.20 for the purchase of Force on Force Simunition Training Equipment, and
WHEREAS, the Police Department requests permission to accept the grant, amend the budget in the amount of $20,171.20 in the revenue and $21,000 expense accounts, and go to bid for these items.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the ADECA Byrne JAG - Local Law Enforcement Assistance Grant for $20,171.20 and authorizes City personnel to execute the grant agreement.
SECTION 2: Amends the budget accordingly: 100-2010-6165 ADECA-JAG-LLEA Grant Expense in the amount of $21,000 and 100-2010-4202 ADECA-JAG-LLEA Grant Revenue in the amount of $20,171.20.
SECTION 3: Authorizes the police department to go to bid for these items and award up to $21,000.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
