WHEREAS, Resolution 22-1081 approved funding in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for the Resurfacing & Street Repairs Phase FY22 City Wide Resurfacing project, of which $175,750 was approved for Sawgrass' professional fees leaving $824,250 available for construction, and
WHEREAS, Sealed bids were publicly opened July 14, 2022, and
WHEREAS, Sawgrass Consulting recommended awarding the Construction Contract to Asphalt Services, Inc. for the Base Bid of $1,070,310.50, and
WHEREAS, there is a need to amend the available funds to cover the Base Bid amount of $246,060.50 under Account No. 400-3020-6197 A13, and
WHEREAS, Asphalt Services, Inc. also included the following four Additive Alternatives:
Alternate No. 1 - Allay and Respite Lane in the amount of $208,656.00
Alternate No. 2 - Graham Creek Preserve Parking Lot in the amount of $64,930.00
Alternate No. 3 - Justice Center Parking Lot in the amount of $140,835.00
Alternate No. 4 - Justice Center Overflow Parking Lot in the amount of $79,070.50
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves awarding the Construction Contract to Asphalt Services, Inc. for $1,070,310.50 and amends the budget in the amount of $246,060.50 under Account No. 400-3020-6197 A13.
SECTION 2: Approves the four Additive Alternatives listed above and amends the budget for Account No. 400-3020-6197 A13 in the amount of in the amount of $493,491.50, for a total construction award of $1,563,802.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
