Summary
The Community Development Department (CDD) requested permission to apply for the Smart Home America Community Resilience Housing Guide Funding Opportunity with RES 22-1141. Smart Home America, Inc. has awarded the City of Foley $20,000 to create a Hazard Mitigation Plan as well as conduct a comprehensive study of their most vulnerable areas by utilizing a consultant to gather data, create a risk assessment and provide a project list of action items for hazards. No matching funds are required. The period of performance shall commence June 1, 2022 - May 31, 2023. The expense and revenue budgets have been included in the FY23 budget.

WHEREAS, the Community Development Department (CDD) requested permission to apply for the Smart Home America Community Resilience Housing Guide Funding Opportunity with RES 22-1141, and
WHEREAS, Smart Home America, Inc. has awarded the City of Foley $20,000 to create a Hazard Mitigation Plan as well as conduct a comprehensive study of their most vulnerable areas by utilizing a consultant to gather data, create a risk assessment and provide a project list of action items for hazards, and
WHEREAS, no matching funds are required, and
WHEREAS, the expense and revenue budgets have been included in the FY23 budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the $20,000 grant from Smart Home America.
SECTION 2: Council authorizes Mayor and other City officials to sign the grant agreement and other documents required to proceed grant request.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
