The current gas range has been repaired multiple times and continues to have the same line problem which could pose a potential hazard to inmates and employees. Parts for the gas range are also expensive and have been difficult to locate. The replacement range/oven will be an electric unit. We are requesting to deem Asset # 9651 unusable due to the reasons listed and disposed of in the best manner possible.

WHEREAS, the current gas range/oven in the Corrections Division is beyond further repair and needs to be replaced as an unplanned capital purchase, and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the new electric range/oven will be made from Hawk Inc. under state contract # MA 220000002186 in the amount of $15,747.00, and
WHEREAS, Asset # 9651 will be deemed as surplus and disposed of in the best manner possible.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the purchase of a Commercial grade electric range/oven from Hawk Inc. under state contract number # MA 220000002186 for $15,747.00.
SECTION 2: Appropriates $15,747.00 to the Police Department Capital purchase account 100-2010-5100 for the range/oven and delivery fees.
SECTION 3: Deems the old range/oven- Asset # 9651 as surplus, to be disposed of in the best manner possible.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
