WHEREAS, the Foley Police Department requests permission to apply for the FY22 Homeland Security Grant Program, and
WHEREAS, the applications are due July 1, 2022, and
WHEREAS, the Foley Police Department will be requesting approximately $15,000 in non-matching funds to purchase gear and equipment to better respond to law enforcement incidents involving hazardous materials, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Foley Police Department’s request to submit an application to the FY22 Homeland Security Grant Program for Community Preparedness and Resilience.
SECTION 2: Council authorizes Mayor and other City officials to sign the application and other documents required to proceed grant request.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
