WHEREAS, the Toys for Tots program has requested permission to temporarily use the first floor of the former Foley Public Library building to receive, organize, and sort donated toys for distribution to children in need during the Christmas season; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that supporting the Toys for Tots program serves a public purpose by helping provide Christmas gifts to children in need throughout the community;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: The City Council approves the temporary use of the first floor of the former Foley Public Library building by the Toys for Tots program, at no cost to the organization, beginning upon adoption of this Resolution and continuing through December 31, 2026. Use of the space shall be limited to activities associated with the Toys for Tots program and coordinated with City staff regarding building access, security, and cleanup. The organization shall be responsible for removing all donated items, supplies, and equipment and returning the space to its original condition, reasonable wear and tear excepted, upon completion of its use. Any damage resulting from the organization's use shall be reported to the City and addressed in coordination with City staff.
